The
West Midlands Group continues to be as popular and successful as ever
this year, and welcomes owners and enthusiasts of all cars at its local
regular meets.
Frequent meets occur at the Star City Complex, a popular location with
WM members and guests some of whom travel some distance from the outer
regions of the area to make the meet, showing how the west midlands
group contains some of the most dedicated rallye owners.
An array of cars are owned by the West Mids RR group, obviously, most
are 106 Rallyes - some of which are amongst the finest and well
maintained in the Rallye Register. Others include Dynofiends (club
Secretary) and Greggs 106 XSi's with 16v conversions and the popular 16v
S2 and S1 rallyes such as Semtex 106's, so there is always plenty to
discuss and chat about in the West Mids area of the RR website.
Events throughout 2005 saw an organised 'WM Rallye Drive' which was
enjoyed by all. Next year I forsee a few different locations to meet
with any luck. Shelsley Walsh Hill climb is a fantastic day out – and with a great drive through the
twisty Worcestershire countryside to the event hopefully we can get
something organised for the summer - and with Curborough sprint course
up the road in Lichfield perhaps a meet or even sprint one weekend could
be on the cards for 2006...
