2005 turned out to be a great year for the North West group of the RR.
After the success of our first meet back in January at the Swettenham
Arms pub, we continued to meet throughout the year at various locations
and paved the way for other regions to follow. We feel that these meets
are the best way for non members to get a 'feel' for the club without
going to a big event, so we more than welcome them to come along.
The setting up of the Regional sections on the forums allowed us our own
space, which made everything a lot easier. It provides a place for
information on meets/events, recommended garages in the area, a separate
area for members in the area to communicate and even
help from other members close by!
Our last driving meet, the Wales Winter Warmer in late October was a
great success, enjoyed by all (bar Dunc as he blew his engine!). The
weather was great, and the roads in Wales were fun and very scenic! We
were extremely lucky with the weather on all our meets, only getting
rained on once if I remember correctly, but unfortunately as winter sets
in, the weather is not on our side so the driving meets will return in
the spring, better than ever!
Our monthly evening pub meets will still be running though, 7:30pm at
the HoneyBee Pub (map)
near Wilmslow on the first Monday of the month!
We've shown we're the leading region in 2005, so lets make 2006 even
better!
